Reviews
Adult/High School-An interesting, visually appealing study of the relationship of habitats and behaviors for 50 different mammals. Although arranged by the type of animal, the emphasis here is on where each one lives and how it has adapted to its surroundings. Each chapter, usually four pages in length, includes key facts on the mammal, brief information on other animals that also live in the area, and a short summary on the habitat itself. The concise text is easily understood and makes clear the many ecological challenges that the creatures face, such as the increasing human population and loss of habitat. The large, full-color photographs are attractive and the color-coded maps, charts, and graphs are clear and highly informative.
