In the idyllic Animal Town, predators and prey coexist harmoniously in a democratic, capitalist society until a tragic incident shatters their utopia. AD Ultman's "Animal Town" unfolds a compelling narrative, reminiscent of Orwell's "Animal Farm," where a young jackrabbit grapples with the complexities of freedom, a weasel pursues power, and ideological clashes threaten the very essence of Animal Town. Ultman's direct prose, dry wit, and penetrating satire serve as a prescient cautionary tale against the pitfalls of political tribalism. The story's relevance is heightened by its clever exploration of contemporary politics, making "Animal Town" a timeless and thought-provoking read for young minds.
AD Ultman crafts a witty and incisive narrative, blending political commentary with timeless storytelling. "Animal Town" showcases Ultman's ability to navigate complex themes with humor and insight.
Dive into the fur-filled world of Animal Town, where a young jackrabbit's journey unveils the dangers of political extremism. AD Ultman's sharp wit and astute observations make this children's book a must-read, offering both entertainment and valuable lessons on unity, freedom, and the perils of ideological divides.
A.D. Ultman grew up on a farm on the Great American Plains, surrounded by the species that populate Animal Town. He holds a B.S. in psychology and political science and a M.A. in political science.
