Henry S. Salt in this book, discusses the rights of animals and the responsibility of humans to treat them fairly and humanely. "Animals' Rights Considered in Relation to Social Progress" firmly establishes a clear and understandable foundation for the principle of animal rights, as well as demonstrating that this principle underpins the various efforts of humanitarian reformers to clear the comfortable fallacies that the apologists of the current system have diligently accumulated. This eight-chapter book is a must-read for any animal lover or animal activist.
