1954. No Edition Remarks. 64 pages. Illustrated dust jacket over red cloth. Black and white photographic plates and illustrations. Light foxing and tanning to pages and plates. More prominent to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Light cracking and staining to gutters and hinges but binding remains firm. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with visible water staining, sunning and scuffing overall. Spine has light sunning with soft crushing to ends. First Edition. Good hardback in Good dustjacket. 63 pages, octavo. Corners and edges are rubbed. There is a half inch scuff on the front board at the hinge. Discoloration to the pastedowns and the free endpapers. Jacket is chipped and creased along edges. There is some staining along the jacket edges matching the color of the cloth. Front panel is creased to the top third portion of the wrapper. This in now flatened with the protective mylar overjacket. A detailed look at the making of animated films with an emphasis on Animal Farm, the first full length animated film made in England. Numerous illustrations. Seller Inventory # sh5635

Cloth with Dustjacket. First Edition. Early book on animation focuses on the making of the first feature length British animated film "Animal Farm" which was created by the important animation team of Halas and Batchelor. Illustrated with b&w drawings, sketches and photos. Hardcover. Condition: Very Good+. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. John Halas and Joy Batchelor (illustrator). 1st Edition. VG+, tight, clean copy with no markings or bookplates. In a good dust jacket with some darkening and minor marks and dirt soil , a 2.5" closed tear adjacent to lower end of spine, a 1/2" closed tear at top of front panel and small snag tear on front cover. Despite defects, this is a fairly nice copy in scarce dust jacket of the book which used the British animated feature, ANIMAL FARM, as illustrative examples of the making of an animated film.
