Annabelle and the Big Slide

One cold fall afternoon Annabelle finally manages to go down the big slide in the park all by herself.

PreKindergarten-Grade 1-- After watching the older children go up and down the sliding board all summer, Annabelle finally climbs the steps all by herself. With the big kids behind her, she has no choice but to follow through, sliding down into her mother's waiting arms. Although there's not much plot, young children will identify with Annabelle's move toward independence. Pocock's collage illustrations add color and verve to a slim story.
