Synopsis

《六度集经》共八卷，分为六章九十一篇，其中有八十二篇是由佛陀前生比喻故事构成。在原典中，前四章各有一段序，第五、六章则无。此外，第七十四、七十五两篇主要是阐发禅定喻理，没有故事情节。 《六度集经》讲述的是佛教六种解脱的方法，即布施、持戒、忍辱、精进、禅定、智慧，故称。译者康僧会，西域康居国丞相之子，因名会，出家后，人称“康僧会”。他“明解三藏，博览六经”。于公元247年来到三国时的东吴，在都城建业(今南京)建立寺庙，弘扬佛法。康僧会还译有《旧杂譬喻经》两卷，注有《按般守恶经》《法镜经》《道树经》三经。其译本“辞趣雅赡，义旨微密”，为历代大藏经收录。另外，相传康僧会曾在江南传授过源自印度的制糖方法，造福百姓。 全经构思精妙，想象奇特，是佛教文学中的精品。原典中的故辜没有题目，由笔者根据文意命名。
