Government report (22 Victoria, Appendix No. 20, A. 1859), 44 pages. "Printed by Order of the Legislative Assembly." Printed by John Lovell, Toronto. Fortin's survey of the Gulf includes his observations on disputes between fishermen, descriptions of sea fowl, and of the various types of fishing (cod, salmon, etc.) and boats he encountered ("On the 4th I visited the pretty village of Cape Cove; the inhabitants are largely engaged in the cod fishery, and in the exportation of the dried fish to foreign countries." Disbound, paper pristine, no marks or chips, tightly sewn.
