28 p.; 23 cm. Salmon wrapper printed in black. Appointed state geologist of New Jersey in 1864, George Hammell Cook (1818–1889) led the geological survey of New Jersey in the 1860s. This became the model for the U.S. Geological Survey, established in 1879. He was vice president of Rutgers College. This report includes extracts from papers sent by the Inclosure Commissioners of Great Britain relating to drainage and sewers. Scarce. In Very Good Condition: wrapper is slightly dusty; minor loss at wrapper corners and along fore-edge of back wrapper; otherwise, clean and solid.
