About the Author

Julian Francis (like most of his main characters) is something of an outsider. Despite being on occasional nodding terms with the establishment, he remains, most definitely, not part of it. His stories aim to uncover truth in myth, metaphor and magic in the humdrum... playing with (and celebrating) the importance of delusion, denial and daydreams; exploring unrealisable fantasies and unachievable aspirations. Coming from a non-literary background; Julian originally studied Theatre Design; working in opera, film and TV before rerouting into teaching. He continues to like foxes, bicycles... and, of course, writing stories.
