Oblong 4to, white boards "Much of his antipathy toward color stemmed from the extremely poor quality of color photographic reproductions that was the normat the time he was actively photographing. Another source of his frustration was the inability to adequately translate the brilliance of a color transparency into a fine print. . Using new scanning and printing technology, this revised and expanded edition of ANSEL ADAMS IN COLOR offers a more faithful representation of Ansel's color photography than has previously been possible- New Foreword." The revised and expanded edition of the only book of Ansel Adams's color photography, beautifully redesigned and including previously unpublished images.
Renowned as America's pre-eminent black-and-white landscape photographer, Ansel Adams began to photograph in color soon after Kodachrome film was invented in the mid 1930s. He made nearly 3,500 color photographs, a small fraction of which were published for the first time in the 1993 edition of Ansel Adams in Color.
This revised and expanded edition features 20 unpublished photographs, and uses new digital scanning and printing technologies that deliver a more faithful representation of Adams's color photography.
