About this title

Synopsis

""An Answer To A Book, Entitled, Reason And Authority: Or The Motives Of A Late Protestants Reconciliation To The Catholic Church"" is a book written by Thomas Bainbrigg and published in 1687. The book is a response to another book titled ""Reason and Authority"" which was written by an anonymous author who had recently converted from Protestantism to Catholicism. Bainbrigg's book is a defense of the Protestant faith and a critique of the arguments put forth in ""Reason and Authority"". He argues that the Catholic Church is not the true church and that its teachings are not supported by scripture. Bainbrigg also addresses the issue of religious authority and argues that the Bible is the only true authority in matters of faith. The book is written in a scholarly style and is aimed at a Protestant audience who may be considering converting to Catholicism. Overall, ""An Answer To A Book, Entitled, Reason And Authority"" is an important work in the history of the Protestant-Catholic divide and provides valuable insights into the religious debates of the time.Together With A Brief Account Of Augustine The Monk, And Conversion Of The English. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
