Illustrated with realistic, large-scale artwork, this picture book distinguishes between the sort of answers children get to the questions they ask: some answers are loud, some are silent, some evoke excitement or fright, and so on. Children will recognize many of the distinctions and perhaps find them pleasing, if not necessarily reassuring. The final page, which shows a child praying, implies that God's responses are the very best kind. This opens the way for curious children to ask more questions. The pastel illustrations have a nice warmth and sense of scale, though the children appear to be of widely different ages.
