A vanishingly scarce pamphlet offering criticism of pro-Catholic poem published in Manchester in the early nineteenth century. A very scarce work offering a rebuttal to the 'stale and absurd' arguments presented in a poem, published in Manchester, that presented a 'Praise of Popery'.Illustrated with an engraved plate captioned 'Joan Pope of Rome [.] A Woman Pope'.The pamphlet criticises the aforementioned poem, and is arranged in a series of rebuttals targeting various verses of the poem.Retaining the terminal blank.Offering insight into anti-Catholic sentiments in the early nineteenth century. In paper wraps. Externally, very smart, with folds to wrap perimeters. Wraps bright. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright. Very Good.
