L'ambiance �tait bruyante, joyeuse, irrespectueuse et copieusement arros�e. Pour les po�tes, Le Chat Noir �tait aussi bien un lieu de rendez-vous qu'un banc d'essai pour tester leurs �lucubrations les plus r�centes. Sa cr�ation marqua la translation de la vie artistique et intellectuelle du Quartier latin vers Montmartre." Andr� Velter.
