Original vintage poster. Offset lithograph. Measures 23 5/8" x 18" An original poster by Keith Haring supporting nuclear disarmament. 20,000 copies of this poster were created and distributed for free at a rally held in Central Park protesting the nuclear arms race. The rally was attended by an estimated one million demonstrators, making it one of the largest protests in American history. Designed in Haring's signature graphic style, the poster is dived into two sections. The lower image includes a central figure with its arms raised above its head and an "x" in place of facial features, as well as a drawing of an atom and the year, 1982, written at the bottom. The upper image shows a crouched figure inside of a mushroom cloud, surrounded by angels. This was Keith Haring's first poster. In excellent condition with some wrinkling to the bottom of the paper.
