Possibly French.On verso handwritten inscription: "La Danse dans la Treille" d'apres Van Ostade - ? variante ou copie (sur papier XVIIIe s.) avec extension á droite (l'original est arreté entre le porc et les deux pro[.] la route).[NL] In een dorpsstraat wordt feest gevierd waarbij het er vrolijk aan toegaat. Een groot aantal dorpsbewoners kijkt geanimeerd toe hoe een man en vrouw dansen op de muziek van een muzikant. Gemaakt door anonieme maker naar after Adriaen van Ostade. Etching on hand laid paper cut within plate mark; total: 162 x 231 mm; some staining, some rubbing due to handling, a small damage in the region of the sky (hole due to thin paper); in fine condition.
