Aphorisms

A slim volume of two pamphlets bound together in antique leather:- APHORISMS Exceedingly requisite for such as intend to the Noble (though too much abused) practice of PHYSICK. Containing the Quality of Medicines Collected by NICH. CULPEPER, GENT, Student in PHYSICK. (pp. 39-48) and APHORISMS Concerning the Operation of Medicines according to the place in the Body of fraile Man. Collected by NICH. CULPEPER, GENT. Student in Physick and Astrology. (pp. 49-89) The sequential pagination across the two sections suggests that they are extracts from Culpeper's Last Legacy, a set of papers collated and published by his wife after his death. Light tanning throughout. Occasional, sometimes childish graffiti by previous owners.
