Full calf binding in poor condition, with mostly missing leather at spine, and cracking, scuffing, and other damage to boards. Tips are exposed. Notations in ink on front pastedown. Pages are foxed. Stitching holds, including both boards. Organized in six sections, including the general grounds for Booth's argument, arguments against free communion at the Lord's table, scriptural arguments in favor of the Baptists, the temper required of Christians towards one another, and reflections on the distinguishing character of strict Baptists, and more. Abraham Booth (1734-1806) was an English dissenting minister and author, known as a Baptist apologetical writer and an abolitionist. Hardcover, acceptable condition. 178 pages, 24mo.
