The Apostle Paul

He was a persecutor of Christians who became Christianity's greatest missionary. He was beaten, shipwrecked, imprisoned, and left for dead; yet he never stopped proclaiming the name of Jesus Christ. Who was the Apostle Paul, and what can his extraordinary life teach us about faith, resilience, and the transforming power of the Atonement? After spending more than four decades as a university professor and scholar, David A. Rees, PhD, brings Paul's world to vivid life, pulling from the book of Acts, Paul's own epistles, and rich historical context to show how God prepared both a man and a moment to carry the gospel to the Gentiles. The Apostle Paul traces the full arc of Paul's remarkable journey from his foreordained preparation and dramatic conversion on the road to Damascus, through his sweeping missionary journeys across the Roman world, to his final imprisonment in Rome.
