About the Author
In 1994, Stephen H. Glazer was appointed the director of golf instruction at the World Cup Driving Range in southern New Hampshire. It was there that the former touring professional recognized that students of all levels had difficulties learning the golf swing from mainstream teaching methods; these methods led most students to confusion, stiffness and ultimate disinterest in the game. Glazer set out to discover a more easily understood and enjoyable way to learn the principles of a sound golf swing. The result of his search was the simple, straightforward learning method known as the The Apple Approach to Golf. The Apple Approach was named after its place of discovery, the Glazer family apple orchard. It was there that, Glazer, while harvesting some apples, recognized the connection between tossing an apple toward a basket and the motion of the golf swing toward a target. The results of The Apple Approach spoke for themselves. In his first season, Glazer taught over 1,000 lessons and clinics. In 1995, Glazer was joined by PGA teaching professional, Nick Macenas and quickly the two instructors became acclaimed by many as New Hampshires top teaching professionals due to their unique teaching style. While The Apple Approach was quickly growing in popularity, New England Golf Magazine (NEGM) was closely watching its success. Having previously written an article that had spread region wide enthusiasm, NEGM agreed to publish the method in book form. And since its introduction, the book has caught the attention of thousands of players and teachers across the United States and the world.
