Quarter leather with cloth. 960 pp. Black and white line drawings throughout. Volume II only of this work (starting with the entry Heptagon), that discusses a variety of machines and the physics behind their operation. This includes a horseshoe machine, a planning machine, marine steam engines, locomotive engines, and many others. FAIR condition. Heavy fading, staining and rippling to the cloth on the exterior, with some soiling, discoloration, tearing and peeling. Cloth frayed and worn along the extremities. A few white paint spots to the leather spine. Interior solid with scattered dampstaining and heavy foxing throughout. Owner's name in pencil on the first endpaper. Seller Inventory # 015534
