Appreciating the Simple: Essays, Musings, and Stories. Volume II

In his second volume of short essays, Gary Czerwinski continues to delight his growing audience of readers with wit and a keen sense of understanding and reverence for both Nature and Human Nature. With his usual gift of the "heart felt," and language that is often "vivid and poetic," Czerwinski celebrates the simple virtues of the seasons, reminds us what politics and America should be about, and makes us laugh at our own foibles as he talks about his own. Here we are introduced to the on-going character of Edna Hill who, in her 70's, loses her husband. Faced with the confusion of sudden loneliness, she struggles to find hope and to remember love in an unfamiliar world she faces alone. Czerwinski lives and works in the lakeside village of Douglas, Michigan. You can visit him at www.cottagesoaps.com.

A former English teacher of twenty years, Gary Czerwinski quit the security of his profession a decade ago to pursue a more inward quest into art. His journey took him to the shores of Lake Michigan where he started a studio called ?Thirteen Hawks? to showcase his original glass designs, painting, photography and entrepreneurial interests. A favored local columnist, this is his second book.
