The Apprentice: A Farce in Two Acts (Classic Reprint)

Sharp-witted chaos and backstage mischief drive this old‑time stage farce as a quarrelsome watchful guardian battles a runaway apprentice and a house full of ambitious actors.

This classic two‑act farce follows Wingate, a wary keeper of order, as he tries to contain a clever apprentice who keeps slipping into trouble. Along the way, theater rivals, a scheming apothecary, and a chorus of would‑be stars collide in a romp of practical jokes, hurried disguises, and quick retorts that keep the laughter flowing.
