The Collected Works of Hugh Nibley contains Nibley's early work on the Book of Abraham and the Joseph Smith Papyri. According to Nibley, Until now, no one has done much more than play around with the bedizening treasury of the Pearl of Great Price. Hugh Nibley received his Ph.D. in history from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1938 and was a professor of ancient scripture at Brigham Young University. He was widely recognized for his brilliant mind, his linguistic abilities, and his concern with detail. He served as a missionary for the Church in Switzerland and Germany and worked in military intelligence during World War II. He was a prolific writer and a gifted lecturer. Dr. Nibley passed away in 2005.
