Ypres gave its name to three major battles: October - November 1914, April - May 1915 and July - November 1917. The severe casualties suffered in the area made Ypres a focus for post-war remembrance. 'Before and after the destruction of Ypres' is a ten page collection of sepia postcards with some tissue separators in pairs which are perforated. The views are of the same location before and after the battles, the location is captioned in French, Flemish and English. The card covered item has embossed title and illustration on the cover. Not dated but circa 1918, it is in good condition for its age with slight bumping on the oversize covers and some soiling. The photographs are unmarked. Seller Inventory # 190029
