خيري شلبي (1938-2011) أحد أهم الكتاب والروائيين المصريين، ولد في قرية شباس عمير في محافظة كفر الشيخ. صدر له أكثر من سبعين كتابًا. حصل على العديد من الجوائز والتكريمات، من أهمها جائزة الدولة التشجيعية في الآداب ووسام العلوم والفنون من الطبقة الأولى وجائزة الدولة التقديرية في الآداب .
