The Arabic Versions Of The Pentateuch In The Church Of Egypt: A Study From Eighteen Arabic And Copto-Arabic Mss., Ninth To Seventeenth Centuries (1921)

""The Arabic Versions of the Pentateuch in the Church of Egypt"" is a scholarly work by Joseph Francis Rhode, published in 1921. The book presents a comprehensive study of eighteen Arabic and Copto-Arabic manuscripts of the Pentateuch, dating from the ninth to the seventeenth centuries, which were found in the Church of Egypt. The Pentateuch, also known as the Torah, is the first five books of the Hebrew Bible and is considered sacred by Jews, Christians, and Muslims. Rhode's study examines the linguistic and textual features of these manuscripts, providing insights into the history of the Arabic language and the transmission of the Pentateuch in the Middle East. The book is aimed at scholars and researchers in the fields of Arabic language, biblical studies, and religious history. It is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history and culture of the Middle East and the development of religious texts in the region. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
