About the Author
Séverine Vidal est autrice jeunesse et scénariste BD depuis 2010. Elle a quitté l’éducation nationale l’année d’après pour se consacrer à l’écriture à plein temps. Petite, elle détestait les maths?; il lui arrive encore de paniquer devant un tableau de chiffres ou sa compta. Alors quand, en 2015, Magnard lui a proposé de réfléchir à un petit personnage pour les rendre attractives et ludiques, son cœur a fait des bonds. Avec l’illustrateur Loïc Méhée, elle s’est amusée à imaginer Archi, ce petit éléphant à lunettes et salopette, aux poches pleines d’outils pour comprendre. Elle a adoré lui faire vivre tout un tas d’aventures du CP au CM2 et voir à quel point lui et ses deux complices séduisaient élèves et enseignant.es.
Christophe Mante a participé en tant qu’auteur et coordinateur à la collection Archimaths, pour les niveaux CM1 et CM2. Il est notamment à l’origine des capsules vidéo qui accompagnent les mémos de la collection. Après des études supérieures dans le domaine des mathématiques, il enseigne depuis plus de 20 ans en école élémentaire REP+ à Vaulx-en-Velin. Dans sa pratique, il s’intéresse particulièrement à l’analyse des erreurs des élèves et attache une importance particulière aux pré-requis indispensables à l’acquisition des différentes notions mathématiques.
Jean-Claude Séguy a enseigné et dirigé une école pendant 25 ans en éducation prioritaire, avant de devenir Inspecteur de l’éducation nationale pour ses quinze dernières années de carrière. Avant de prendre sa retraite, il a voulu apporter sa contribution et son expérience à l’élaboration des manuels innovants en mathématiques dans la collection Archimaths CM1 et CM2. Il se consacre encore à la formation de professeurs, au Maroc notamment, en mathématiques.
Aurélie Sanial Lanternier a été enseignante, directrice d’une école élémentaire puis conseillère pédagogique en Education prioritaire. Elle occupe aujourd’hui la fonction de proviseure adjointe d’un lycée professionnel. Le constat de la désaffection des élèves pour les mathématiques et leur peur de se lancer, mais aussi l’inquiétude d’un grand nombre de professeurs des écoles d’enseigner les mathématiques l’ont conduit à rejoindre l’aventure Archimaths CM1 et CM2, au sein d’une équipe d’auteurs très engagée. Aujourd’hui encore, dans le cadre de ses fonctions, elle porte une attention particulière à l’accompagnement de son équipe d’enseignants avec la mise en place de la consolidation des acquis. Les échanges riches avec des enseignants au plus près des difficultés en mathématiques croisent parfois les principes didactiques et pédagogiques de la méthode Archimaths?!
