Contemporary black cloth, red lettering-piece on the spine (a bit worn at the extremities). Provenance: with the modern ownership inscription of Donald R. Eastman of Rochester on the front free endpaper; the bookplate of James M. Goode of Washington D.C. on the front paste-down. Volume III, parts 1-6 only, of the oldest continuously published magazine in the U.S., having been founded in 1845. Still the leading source and authority for science, technology information and policy for a general audience in America, this volume is the third in a running series that explores all aspects of the building trade, from the history of architecture to types of nail.
