Architectural Digest New York Interiors

Describes the migratory behavior, reproductive and nesting habits, habitat requirements, and other characteristics of sixty bird species from the house sparrow to the bald eagle

In this posthumously published volume, a noted author, artist, and ornithologist gathers together decades of field notes regarding 60 species of well-known birds, including representatives from most of the major bird families. Neither a field guide nor a handbook for the beginner, Birds Worth Watching is a pleasantly written collection of bird portraits with accompanying color photographs. Reproductive and nesting activity, migratory behavior, and habitat requirements are among the topics. Both a patient observer and an inquiring scientist, Sutton continually raises questions about unexplained bird behaviors. Libraries in the western states will find this volume most useful since most of the sightings occurred in Oklahoma. Laurie Bartolini, formerly with Lincoln Lib., Springfield, Ill.
