The second edition of this influential, comprehensive 19th-century instructional book is valued for being heavily revised and enlarged.

Overall condition is is Good. The exterior is age toned and worn, with cracks and chipping to the spine that expose the binding mesh at the ends. Interior joints are cracked. The binding remains secure, the pages and plates well-attached. Interior is age toned, foxing to endpapers. Previous owner's name inked on title page along with date of "1898," else text pages are free and clear of of any markings or foxing. A couple of the pull-out illustrations are bumped and tattered at the edges where they extend out from the block page edge - doesn't affect drawings; most are flush with the block edge. A nice, solid copy of this detailed work!
