Architecture and Field/Work

Identifying and critically discussing the key terms, techniques, methodologies and habits that comprise our understanding of fieldwork in architectural education, research and practice, this book collates contributions by established and emerging international scholars. It will be of interest to critical practitioners, researchers, scholars and students of architecture.

A selection of critical historiographies, theoretical strategies and reflective design practices challenge us to think seriously about our knowledge, experience and application of fieldwork in architecture.

Suzanne Ewing is an architect and academic who teaches architectural design at the University of Edinburgh. She is a partner at zone architects and contributes to public discourse on design in the UK and Europe through workshops, exhibitions and publications.

Jérémie Michael McGowan is an artist, designer and academic who has taught and exhibited in the UK, United States and Finland.

Chris Speed is Reader in Digital Spaces at Edinburgh College of Art.

Victoria Clare Bernie is an artist and academic who teaches architecture at the University of Edinburgh.
