Areca catechu and its byproducts

This book stands as the first and only compilation devoted to areca nuts and their byproducts. Starting from areca nuts, the book covers areca husks, areca sheaths, areca leaves and areca tree trunk for their composition, structure, properties and applications. The authors demonstrate that Areca and its byproducts can be used as source for fuel, fiber, composites, packaging materials, medical biomaterials, construction materials, and materials for environmental remediation. The book is aimed at advanced readers who are interested in biobased products, bioeconomy, sustainability and agricultural waste valorization. It is also a useful reference for engineers, scientists, and students working on alternative products and fibrous materials from biobased resources.
