An illustrated copy of this popular early modern midwifery book by an unknown author who falsely claimed to be Aristotle.With seven colour plates, including a frontispiece, a coloured illustrative title page and numerous in-text figures.In the original cloth binding, with decorative gilt to the spine.Contradictory to the assumption that early modern works are conserved, this was not only a book on midwifery but also a sex manual, offering frank explanations of topics ranging from childbirth to "the purpose, pleasures, and particulars of sex". In the original cloth binding. Externally, very smart. With slight rubbing and bumping to the extremities, more to the spine head and tail. Small marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound.
