This is the first thorough monograph on Mexican painter and sculptor Armando Romero (born 1964). To his classically composed, figurative paintings, Romero often adds irreverent, contemporary imagery of anthropomorphic animals and cartoon characters, placing them around the canvas like stickers.

About the Author

Armando Romero (Mexico City, 1964) completed his university studies in sculpture at the INBA National School of Plastic Arts, La Esmeralda, where he later became a professor. Up to the present time, he has had more than 25 individual exhibitions and has taken part in more than one hundred group exhibitions in Mexico, the United States and several European countries. He was granted a FONCA fellowship and has been awarded with many prizes for his paintings and sculptures. His work has been auctioned at international auction houses such as Sotheby's and Christie's. He lives and works in Mexico City.
