Army Rifles (Sam Colder: Bounty Hunter)

Catching this outlaw isn't about the bounty -- it's about revenge.

Sam Colder meets a strange woman named Trinity Fisher and winds up promising to help her avenge the murder of her sister's family at the hands of an outlaw gang led by Owen Jones.

Jones and his men are after a wagon load of the latest Colt pump rifles the Army has sent from Fort Bayard to the detachment at Fort Tularosa, The trail leads deep into the territory of Victorio's savage Apaches. And the summer monsoon rains are overdue and could arrive any day. Once the rains start, flash floods could sweep anyone and anything on the trail away.

The well being of the Army is none of Sam's concern... at least he didn't think so. But then a whore in Pinos Altos tells him that the lieutenant leading the Army detachment is named Ellery Mason. That's his nephew, fresh out of West Point, and new to the west.

Now he's got another obligation that complicated everything.
