Arno Kramer (Winterswijk, 1945) is a draughtsman, curator and poet. He draws abstract and figurative elements. Delicacy, mystification and melancholic atmosphere are typical of his work. Subjects constantly recur: apart from the female body and the portrait, they are hares, deer, wolves or swans. Arno Kramer always looks for a certain resistance in his work. The texts written especially for this book provide insight into Arno Kramer's development. The importance of literature to him is discussed. Arno Kramer is a warm advocate for the practice and appreciation of drawing as an independent and fully-fledged medium.
