Illustrations include the moat tower of the Castle of Chillon, Villa Grisi, Voltaire's house at Fernex, the church built by Voltaire, the villa of the Empress Josephine, villa of Prince Napoleon, views of Lausanne, Vevay, and Vernex and Montreux, the chateau of Cretes, castle of Chillon, Bonnivard's dungeon, a view of Thonon, Byron's villa at Diodati, Merle D'Aubigne's country-seat, and portraits of Voltaire, Madame De Stael, Madame Du Chatelet, and Bonnivard.
