Hardback, 8.75 x 5.5 inches. In red cloth covers with black lettering to spine and illustration to front cover. In illustrated dustwrapper. In very good condition with dustwrapper. (DW. Spine faded. Rubbing along edges. Shelving marks. Not price clipped. In protective cellophane wrapper.). Some marking to cloth. Some light fading along top edge. Marks to top page edges. Else a clean and tight copy. 158pp. With b&w illustrations within text by Victor Ambrus. Early in the 15th century, the Hundred Years' war was being carried on by raids on enemy ports, not by armies. Harry Paye, called "Arripay" quartered on England's south coast, supported by the people of Poole Harbour, except Adam Morden. While other young men were out with Harry, Adam studied Latin with Father Hilary, wondering if he had a vocation. Overhearing talk between Harry and an older man, Adam realizes that some of Harry's booty is stashed nearby.
