Synopsis
Merriam Webster’s New Collegiate Dictionary: A definition of the word prompt: 1. To move to action or incite;2. To assist by suggestion; 3. To bring forth an act or cause something to happen. As writers, we are presented with prompts every day. Prompts come in all sizes, shapes, and forms. A single word, a work of art, a sentence, a book or movie, food, music, temperature, architecture, a person’s face or dress, the list is endless when it comes to being prompted to write about something, whether it is fiction or non-fiction; a poem, short story, or novel. Even a restaurant menu, shop window display, travel guide, or an old woman standing on the corner can incite, suggest, or bring forth a story to a writer. For this book, the prompt is a tool to stimulate the imagination. The reader will have an opportunity to see how a writer received, interpreted, visualized, used, and developed his stories and writing skills to bring forth interesting, uniquely different views on a single subject.Few people, if any, could say that they have never been prompted, either by thought, word, written or visual suggestions, or simply by being alive. I trust you will enjoy the diverse imagination and creativity I have compiled for your reading pleasure and trust it will stimulate your own imagination.
