The Art of Leading Yourself (Paperback)

Intellect and technical knowledge alone can't get you where you want to go, but combine them with the power of Emotional intelligence (EI) and you become unstoppable. By learning to access your EI, you can use the information and creative power of your emotions to improve and guide your thinking. Like a personal coach, The Art of Leading Yourself speaks to your head and your heart-the first leadership/self-development book that actually places a high value on all of your emotions. Becoming more aware of your feelings-and learning to manage them-will enable you to: • Recognize and overcome obstacles • Motivate and inspire others • Create more satisfying relationships • Become a true leader, not a follower

Randi B. Noyes is a pioneer in the practical application of emotional intelligence and president of Leadership International, Inc., a leadership consulting firm. For over twenty years, Randi has provided leadership coaching to hundreds of top executives and corporate clients such as AT&T, Exxon, Mobil Oil and Phillips Petroleum. After college, Randi left her native Norway to live in the United States. There she co-founded Scandinavia Inc., a successful ski apparel distributorship. In the course of business and during frequent transatlantic flights, Randi developed a passionate interest in understanding the forces that motivate people and lead to a successful meaningful life. After realizing that many people she talked with started their own businesses or improved their careers, Randi left the sportswear business to focus on self-leadership and team building. In 1979 she founded Business Presentation, Inc., a leadership consulting firm. In 1995 Randi published the Norwegian edition of The Art of Leading Yourself: Tap the Power of Your Emotional Intelligence. It became a bestseller in Scandinavia and made her a sought-after speaker. In June 2000, Leadership International hosted a senior leadership conference with Dr. John Mayer, the originator of the first scientific definition of Emotional Intelligence. In 2002, The Art of Leading Yourself won the Business Book of the Year Award from Foreword Magazine. Randi offers results-oriented consultations to executives and corporations in all industries. Based in Boston, Massachusetts and Oslo, Norway, she can be reached at www.leadership-international.com
