Hitchcock, a U.S. Civil War era major general who collected an extensive library on alchemy, with distinctive ouroboros. Some marginalia and annotation throughout, handwritten table of contents at the rear. This book has been rebound and recut, so some of the marginalia is cut off at the edges.
