The Art of Painting in All its Branches, Methodically demonstrated by Discourses and Plates.[etc]

Scarce in any condition. Detached boards with heavy wear and rubbing on the cover, erosion on the spine. Pages show minor soiling, detached last page, textblock otherwise intact and square. A good candidate for rebinding. Gerard de Lairess was a Dutch Golden Age painter and art theorist, and was also subject to a portrait painted by Rembrandt, although he was against the style of realism that Rembrandt embodied. Originally published as Het groot schilderboeck in 1707.
