Softcover. New book. 1989, 167 p., 219 items, all in color and some with additional color illustrations to show details, 28.5 x 21 cm. An exhibition catalogue from this dealer, with a price list. The text is by Galloway and Simcox; there is a brief introduction, and then comments about each piece with references to similar pieces and previous publications. Technical analyses, dyes and carbon-dating for some of the pieces. Ages range from 8th-9th century to early 20th. About a third are Japanese and Chinese: kesi panels, wall hangings, brocades, panels, rank badges; about a sixth are Chinese and Indian textiles, Kashmir Shawls, Uzbek and Chinese Turkestan costumes. The remainder are European textiles are ecclesiatical garments from the 13th to lat 17th century, 18th century English silks, velvets and chinoiserie embroidery, 18th century French, Italian and Spanish velvets, 18th and 19th century woven, embroidered and painted textiles, and Art and Craft carpet.
