Arthur Mode, a man in his early thirties, finds himself ensnared in the tedium of gainful yet joyless employment. Exiled from his birthplace, he has spent years in the sprawling anonymity of Chicago. His days now stretch out before him, unmarked by the presence of his best friend, Luther, who has departed in pursuit of a different existence, and his former lover, Peta. In August 2018, we follow Arthur through one week of his life, observing his quotidian routines, his ingrained habits, and the labyrinth of his thoughts. The narrative captures the stark banalities of his existence, yet also pauses to illuminate those rare instances when the mundane is pierced by the extraordinary. Through the interwoven tapestry of relationships and the people who, ultimately, give his life meaning, we glimpse the profound in the seemingly ordinary.

We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence.
