Artificial intelligence at the heart of the supply chain

Against a backdrop of increasingly complex global supply chains, this book explores the impact of automation through artificial intelligence on business performance. In four chapters, it first lays the conceptual foundations of automation and logistics, traces the historical development of AI, then illustrates its concrete applications - picking robots, inventory drones, intelligent inventory management, delivery optimization. It then analyzes the operational, economic and competitive benefits for companies, while identifying the major challenges: data quality, investment costs, resistance to change and ethical issues. The book concludes in favor of augmented logistics, where AI and humans complement each other to build more efficient, resilient and sustainable supply chains.
