About this Item

Description:

Wizard 403. 1960s London bohemian erotic novel. Great Bilbrew cover. Cover bright showing slight scuffing and bumping to corners. Cover copy: London, once the seat of pomp and Empire, is now. a place of mini-skirted intrigue. Into the milieu, Denise Rembreau fitted perfectly. A failure as an art student, with a model's sensual body, she became easy prey to the brutality of ex-convict, Bark Williams and became his abject love slave. At his orders, Denise drew another artistic nonentity, Larry Corning, into a plot to steal valuable paintings from museums. In order to insure Larry's loyalty, she sealed the bargain by treating him to her erotic talents, which were not minimal. Complications arose, however, when they encouraged one another to resume artistic careers, and unforeseen emotions became added to violent passions. The lovers suffered setbacks: Denise was forced, by Bark, into the rapacious clutches of pig-like, Farber, a fence for stolen art works. Larry, tricked by Bark into despairing of Denise's love, gave up on going straight. Thus the stage is set for conflict between defilement and regeneration. First Paragraph(s): The Hardwick Gallery was set far back from the narrow sidewalk. People passing by in the late afternoon or early evening were always surprised that a lot should still exist in the crowded, commercial neighborhood, that there should be this sudden forty-foot-wide space intruding itself between the steady line of merchant shops that fronted the sidewalk like odd-sized stalwarts of English tradition. But then the passersby would look again and see the gallery set at the end of the city lot instead of at the front of it, and they would blame the fog for their inattention to an establishment that was nearly as old as the Empire itself. 158 pages. Text unmarked. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. Some age-toning to page edges. Slight reading-wear and bumping to corners. Illustrator: Gene Bilbrew "Eneg". Quantity Available: 1.
