FIRST EDITION hardcover, LIMITED PRINTING (to 23,500 copies) (see last page), sewn-bound in decorative black cloth (red drawing on front cover, and faded red lettering on spine) is in G condition, having discreet book sticker of former bookseller at bottom of first fixed endpaper: "Books Jean French"; two small pencil notations on title-page: "Cat" and "700."; binding shows some slight stressing do to much use; minor handling wear to pages; some wear to top and bottom spine; corners bumped and worn; covers show rubbing/scuffing. Book is illustrated with mainly b&w photographs, but also has four full color plates painted by Miguel Covarrubias; there are also line drawings of maps; endpapers by Frank V.
