Assistant of Education: Volume 3

"Assistant Of Education" by Caroline Fry is a rich compilation of religious and educational content from the early 19th century, designed for young readers. This volume features moral essays, biographical sketches, and poems, alongside educational material that includes a comprehensive Sketch of General History, tracing ancient civilizations from Phoenicia to the Greco-Roman world, culminating in the Babylonian Captivity. Notable biographies, such as that of Archbishop Leighton, and letters offering guidance to a young lady about transitioning from school are included, as well as moral reflections presented in The Listener. The book also introduces The Study of Nature, with sections on Botany detailing plant classifications and orders, perspective drawing tutorials, and illustrative plates. Additional content encompasses hymns, poetic recreations, and critical reviews of contemporary religious and educational works, all reflecting a disciplined Christian education program for youth through the lenses of history, science, and literature.
