Asteroid (Winnie Bravo, Space Pilot)

A cocky young pilot chases a cryptic probe through Earth orbit.

When the Moon's corporate rival hires Winnie and her partner, Bertie, to clear space junk around an orbiting space station, she grabs her chance to pursue the probe's agent, a spy who almost killed her - twice.

Winnie thought nothing could distract from her single-minded pursuit, but earnest colonists occupy the station, and they deserve a better life. With their ruler's mind crumbling away, she aims to help them and still catch the spy.

Tracking down a scoundrel is harder than expected, and flying asteroids into Earth orbit may not be a brilliant move. More like an approaching disaster.

Can the pilots avert global catastrophe? Will they survive the attempt? If you're looking for near-future adventure, follow Winnie into space.

A science fiction writer, poet, firefighter, and engineer on the way to becoming an eccentric old woman.

I write science fiction novels and science-inspired poetry, and serve as a volunteer firefighter. I'm also a retired environmental engineer and Cold War Warrior (honestly, that's what Congress called us) because I worked in America's nuclear weapons complex. Now living on the edge of the southwest's Gila National Forest with my husband, cats, llamas, and dog, I'm well on my way to achieving my life-goal of becoming an eccentric old woman.
